Fiber cement is painted but this is done at the factory. Paint also adds an extra level of protection and the paint and stain itself holds very well.

How much maintenance is needed?

James Hardie fiber cement siding is absolutely known as a low-maintenance siding solution. But, like any siding, the siding can have dirt build-up. A simple power wash or cleaning with a garden hose will help make your siding look as good as new.

How long will fiber cement last?

It is not uncommon for fiber cement siding to last over 50 years. James Hardie Siding themselves have a 30 year warranty because of their trust in the product. The value of the product is directly correlated to house long it can visually and structurally hold up.
